The deterioration of a vehicles upholstered Headliner is not uncommon, especially with our extreme climate conditions in northern Texas. The extreme hot and cold temperatures take a real toll on the materials used in automotive upholstery. The temperatures inside a vehicle will far exceed 150 degrees and be extremely higher between the vehicle’s metal roof and the interior’s Headliner causing serious breakdowns of the materials. Once the Headliner material has begun to separate and sag it cannot be reattached or glued. The Headliner must be completely stripped, resurfaced, and reupholstered with new material. The entire Headliner backerboard must be fully removed from the vehicle for this process. Normal service times for these types of repairs is one – two days, certain vehicle do require more time.
